Last Thursday, June 11th, an Elkins, Auer, Rudof & Schiff client walked out of prison and went home to his wife after 15 years of imprisonment.  He was sentenced to life in prison for an offense that occurred when he was seventeen years old.  After Ryan Schiff represented him at a parole hearing earlier this year, the Parole Board agreed that he was rehabilitated and deserved to live outside the prison walls.  This the second client of our firm who has been released from a life sentence this year.  They are both remarkable men who show that, as Helen Prejean put it, we are all “better that the worst thing we have ever done.”  We are proud to have fought on their behalf and are honored to call them friends.
